Happy Birthday, Libby
She raised my husband. He cherishes her.
She makes my children giggle. They adore her.
She listens, helps, and gives whole heartedly. I admire her.
Happy Birthday, Libby.
We all love you.
Vacation Post – Part II
What I Know
You know the thing I hate most about depression? You know that you are out of control. You know your moods aren’t right. You know that your brain is trying to trick you into thinking you are unlovable, unworthy, un-whatever good thing you are. But it doesn’t matter what you know.
It doesn’t matter that you are awesome. It doesn’t matter that you make beautiful things or raise lovely children or have a good sense of humor or are kind to strangers. Because no matter what you know, your brain is telling you what to feel. And is telling you to feel awful.
But I also know you can medicate it. Exercise and healthy eat it. Vitamin D and sun lamp it. You can surround yourself with good people. And go to bed on time. And get up on time. And push yourself a little every day.
And it might not ever be perfect – but it will get better.
Be The Match Update
Each month, I’ve picked a different non-profit to highlight on this blog and earlier in the month I wrote about getting your name on list at the National Bone Marrow Program.
So my swabs came in the mail while I was on vacation. It took less than five minutes to do. Four swabs. Swallow – rub on your inner cheek for 30 seconds – place in the enclosed card. Mail back. It was free (it isn’t always and a donation to process is requested). It was simple. You can someday save a life.
Have you signed up yet? Go now and have your kit mailed to you.
Friday Finds:: Will You Be My Valentine?
Last year we made heart shaped crayons for V’s classmates. This year, I think it’s going to be one of these three. You can click on the link to find the printable.
This envelope is super cute – I’m going to try and make mine (because I’m like that) but you can also order it from Pottery Barn Kids. What I really love is the story of how this family is using theirs.

I think this would be an easy way to decorate a special Valentine’s Day dinner with the kiddos.
And this would make the cutest card for Grandma and Grandpa.

I love these barrettes. Here is a great tutorial from the Purl Bee.They also have one on making pins.

Do you have any valentine’s craft plans? Or a favorite valentine you’ve received?
