I know a little girl who would absolutely, positively LOVE this reversible circle skirt. And it looks easy enough that her momma could make it.

Speaking of easy, I was recently talking with a friend about the fact that we have an old 3/4 bed. It’s ancient but perfect for V’s smaller room (and yet big enough that I can snuggle with her when she isn’t feeling well). She asked how I find fitted sheets and shook her head at me when I said I made them. But sheets are simple. REALLY simple. I just customized this tutorial from Dana. With all the adorable flannels and cottons out there you can get exactly what pattern (or size) you want.

And since we are making homemade sheets…isn’t this pillowcase the cutest? I can wait to give this a try. She talks about her little stuffed hedgie too.

These pillows are just one more reason why I love Martha.

With my hair getting longer but not quite long enough to put in a pony…I know I’m going to be making a few of these. I even have some cute fabric in my stash (little V might get some for her birthday too!)

I know I’ll be tackling a few of these projects this weekend (especially the headbands). What do you have planned?

So, so, so many projects.

And a wedding. A camping trip. A house to prepare for a new puppy.

All sorts of wonderful busy-ness. I’m trying to live in the moment and just enjoy it all.

Tonight, we celebrate Mr. G’s 13 years of sobriety. I’m so grateful. I didn’t know him then, so to all of the amazing, kind, supportive, wonderful people who were there then so he could be the man he is today – thank you. And to my husband…

I am so blessed to know you. And so proud to have you in my life. Thank you for loving me.

During a conversation with friends about makeup and skincare the other day, I came to the realization that for a girl who wears makeup MAYBE twice a week, I definitely have some strong opinions on product. I can get ready in fifteen minutes, but I don’t even want to tell you how many V.I.B. points I’ve acquired through my Sephora account. I can’t decide if I feel guilty about that, but I figured I might as well share some of my current choices (and long standing loves).

1. Clarisonic Mia – Nothing has made my face softer or smoother than using this every day.

2. philosophy: purity made simple – I’ve been using this cleanser for about six years now. I’ve tried others (especially after reading articles about how cleansers are more of “save” item) but I always go back to this one. It works. It doesn’t make my skin feel tight. And it doesn’t sting my eyes.

3. wen: sweet almond mint OR pomegranate – It’s expensive and you use a lot. But after using it for the last four months, if I even try using something else my hair just feels like straw. My recommendation – if you love it – buy it from QVC‘s gallon sale (usually in June) and if you aren’t already using it and don’t want to spend the money on it – don’t start. It’ll ruin you for anything else.

4. bliss: fabulips sugar lip scrub – I’ve always been a lip licker which means I almost always have dry lips. This sloughs off the icky dry skin and leaves me with soft lips. And it tastes good.

5. philosophy: hope in a jar moisturizer – This is another one of those products that I’ve been using for ages and have tried to change on different occasions but can’t. I just haven’t found anything that feels as good or makes my skin look as nice as this.

6. Caudalie: premier cru the eye – This is a recent product purchase. I was using something called Teamine that was supposed to help my genetic dark circles. It didn’t. Someone recommended this and I got a sample using some Sephora points and I liked it so I decided to try it for awhile. I’m not overwhelmed with it for the price tag. I know I’ll be trying something else. Suggestions?

7. Bare Escentuals: Pure Transformation Night Treatment – I have this in a tinted treatment and I love going to bed with pretty skin. In fact, most days I look more made up when I’m going to bed than I do during the day. My skin just FEELs better in the morning when I use this. Love it. And it lasts FOREVER.

So what are some of your favorites?

A fell and hit his head last night. He threw up a few times in the night and again this morning so we took him into the doctor who ordered a CT scan. It’s not serious, but it is a concussion. And I do have to try and find “low key” and “quiet” activities so he doesn’t re-injure it.

I’m taking suggestions on ways to keep him occupied. Pinterest has given me a few ideas, but do you have any you can share?

Just a few updates in bullet form:

We had V’s spring party program last night. At one point they asked for kids to share someone they love to include in a song. When they called on V, she said, “Wolfie”. She makes me laugh.

Today was a good day but I have no idea where it disappeared to. I changed some bedding. Took the kids for walk. And then all of a sudden it was dinner time. Does that ever happen to you?

I’ve started working on my project for this month. And I have to say, I look pretty cute graphed out for cross stitch. At the very least, I’m skinnier.

Today was 1-my mom’s birthday 2-my parents’ anniversary 3- my sister’s birthday. May 8th is a busy day around these parts – especially (like last year) when it lands on Mother’s Day. I’m sad that I didn’t get to spend time with them today, but we’ll be meeting up over the weekend and it will be very nice to get to spend time with them.

I just ordered yarn to make this. I have a feeling it will belong to Mr. G. this fall so I ordered it in one of his favorite colors. I’m sweet like that.

This list thing has really helped me prioritize things. Want to make one of your own? If you do and want to share, I’d love to see it!!

I really should be off. I’m going to <del>probably</del> get up and run tomorrow and I have a few odds and ends to finish up before I head to bed.

So tell me…what’s new with you?
