Hi, I’m Kate. I’m a wife. A mom. A sister, daughter, friend. I read. I write. I’m learning to sew. I wish I was more organized, was a better photographer, gardened and canned, was more crafty. I have a passion for volunteerism, stationary, and happy things.
More about Me
What I’m Reading
Knit
I’ve spent a majority of the last few days visiting a loved one in the hospital. A small tote bag with knitting has come along.
I’ve been able to sit in silence.
I’ve been able to talk.
I’ve been able to set it aside and run to get water or ice or dinner when needed.
I’ve been able to be supportive but not intrusive.
Instead of reading which absorbs my attention or a television show which might keep her awake when she needs rest, my knitting is just there. For me. While I am there for her.
As I sat there this afternoon, stitch after stitch, I realized why women have done this for generations.
It’s meditative. It allows me to busy and at rest. It’s quiet. Portable. Useful.
Please send prayers for her health and recovery.

That Time of The Month
